Ms. Vrbka
Hi, I am Ms. Vrbka, Adams' AVID Coordinator/Teacher and an 8th grade ELA Teacher. Thank you for visiting my class page!
A little about me, I grew up here in the South Bay and later attended Sonoma State University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in English. In 2021, I received my Single-Subject Teaching Credential and started working here at Adams. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies (80s John Hughes films are my guilty pleasure), writing, creating Spotify playlists for every occasion, and spending time with my friends and family.
I am passionate about teaching ELA because I believe in the importance of sharing stories and the power of writing. Stories and literature allow us to connect, understand different perspectives, and express our thoughts and emotions. Writing, on the other hand, is a powerful skill that empowers students to communicate effectively and think critically.
Being an AVID teacher is also incredibly rewarding for me. I love seeing students reach their highest potential and helping them develop skills that will serve them throughout their academic careers and beyond. Creating relationships with my students is one of the most fulfilling parts of my job. I strive to make school a place where they feel valued and inspired to achieve their goals.
I look forward to having a phenomenal school year! If you would like to contact me, I would be happy to hear from you via email at [email protected]
